Celebrating Métis Week

Celebrating Métis Week

During Métis Week, we celebrated our rich cultural heritage through a variety of engaging activities. The week kicked off with an exciting bannock competition, where participants showcased their baking skills and shared traditional recipes. We also hosted a lively Jigging event at the Esplanade, allowing community members to experience and participate in this vibrant dance form that is an integral part of Indigenous culture. To culminate the week, we organized a vibrant Indigenous craft market, featuring handcrafted artworks, jewelry, and cultural displays that highlighted the creativity and traditions of Indigenous artisans. These events fostered community spirit, cultural pride, and greater awareness of Indigenous heritage.
